Quote this!

Reading one of my sister's blog posts the other day reminded me that I do not think I have ever share any of my favorite quote's here! I am a big quote lover so I thought it would be a good time to do so and maybe why I love them so. That would definitely give you insight to more of me outside the scrapping world. If you could care less...turn away now! hehe

Here are a random 5 that I love:

1. "The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them." - Mark Twain.

I LOVE this quote. I did not grow up in a big reading family, but I grew into a love of reading and married into a reading family, and assured that my kids love it as well. Ignorance is so much more than just not achieving a textbook education... people are missing out on so much by not having the ability to escape into a book, to use their imaginations, to dream up worlds and heroes and heroines. Just a great quote by a wise, wise man that had a lot of useful things to say!

2. "If you live to be 100 I want to live to be 100 to, minus one day so I never have live without you." — A.A Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)

Cute and smart! This is just such a tender, loving quote. It is exactly how I feel about my husband. I could never, ever, never imagine my life without him.

3. "I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naïve or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman." - Anais Nin

I am not much of a feminist, I am not sure many know that, or care to really lol. But I love this statement that says I CAN be a strong woman, capable of doing what needs to be done and then some, I have a man who fully knows what I am and where my strengths lie, and yet, I can let go and not need to prove I can roar.

4. "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." - Buddha

Ugh, drives me nutso. My mom is one of those people that dwell in the past and is SO miserable alllll the time because of it. And... you can not count on things that have not happened yet. So SO many people spend so much time focusing on the past or the future...and they never ever live and never enjoy today! Today is what you have! Live it, embrace it. It will be gone in the blink of an eye.

5. "Bitterness is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die." - Ron McManus

My daughter and I equally love this quote and again it stems from my mother. She is so bitter and it is sad because all it has done is destroyed who she is, it consumes her. I learned from my mother-in-law that people can only upset you if you let them, and by being upset and dealing with all that anger and what comes with it, it destroys your current relationships and who you are. Yet...it never bothers who you are bitter against, does it? So sad.

Ok, that's it for now. :)
