So, thanks to the tutorials at Tea Rose Home and Ruffles and Stuff I was finally able to muster up the courage to try and make ruffles. I used some of the left over jean material to make ruffles and OH MY ..... I am so hooked. I want to ruffle everything! So I came up with this for Samantha's room as the pinched flower I made matches the quilt I made her (and consequently the plastic bag holder! lol). It is just a jean ruffle and a pinched flower all hot glued to a frame I had lying around for ages. She loves it.
In hindsight, I would like to make the stem thinner but for now and for my first one it works :)

That's so cute. I'm jealous that you got more of the craft gene than I did. Not fair...lol
ReplyDeleteI did sew the ruffle myself! :) It was my very first ever ruffle sewing lol. I am really a beginner, but I followed Ruffles n Stuff's step by step directions... I actually had the lap top with me lol.
ReplyDeleteI do not have more of the craft gene Ann, just different crafts lol I could never decorate a cake like you do! :)
