My First Table Runner

I had to share this project with you, I am so excited!!!! This is the first table runner I have done, and I actually did the binding on it, and the piecing and and and .... *sighs happily* I love it!

I followed the tutorial given from Amy Smart at Diary of a Quilter.Well.... ok no I didn't follow the tutorial, I read it and then did it my way, making many potty mouthed mistakes along the way... Next time I will follow the tutorial! Then I tried binding the thing... 3 times, before successfully doing it the right way! AND... I actually did the binding on the machine... and it worked! :) Wooohooo!

It was definitely a learning experience and I can not wait to make another one, actually, so I can see how much I have learned. Plus I love how it looks! My dh was pleasantly surprised as well!

The coloring on this picture is horrid and I can not for the life of me get it any better in editing!

Here is a close-up, I did varied strip sizes and I also did varied quilting lines on each row, and I really like how they look! :) I just used a generic jelly roll from Jo-Ann's. I was not about to spend a lot of money on a designer one until I knew I could do it! hehe

Thanks for looking, and thank you, Amy for the ridiculously awesome tut and all you do to help us beginners out! I have noone in my life to teach me any sewing or quilting etc, so tutorials is all I have and I really appreciate everything people do on blogs to help us learn!

  1. This is very clever and very beautiful. I have a lovely big dining table which could take a runner. I sometimes put one on at Christmas which has a festive feel.

Have a great weekend. Found you through Friday blog hop.
