I have seen the cutest quilted coasters all over the blogosphere and I had left over fabric from the table runner I made, so I knew that I was going to make some matching ones for our table!
It was so fast and easy; it is a great project to do when you are in need of some instant gratification. I made ten of them, and like the runner I quilted each one in a different way... just playing around and having some fun with my machine! It was great!
All I did was sandwich a piece of the batting between two pieces of fabric and sew! I left the edges unfinished because 1. I like the unfinished, shabby edges when they fray after you wash them, and 2. I am lazy and like fast and easy projects!
In any case, the family loves them and so do I :) I actually cannot wait to do another runner and next time maybe I will get a little fancier on the matching coasters!
