Semi Homemade Black Forest Cupcakes

I made the yummiest Black Forest Cupcakes! I like Black Forest recipes because you can never lose when you combine chocolate and cherries! Also, I am not a fan of overly sweet things and I use a whipped cream based frosting so there is no heavy sweet frosting.

SO simple, all you do is take a boxed Devil's Food Cake mix and instead of using water use a black cherry soda. Make cupcakes instead of a cake.  When they are completely cooled make a little hole in the center of the cupcake and put in a pit of tart cherry pie filling! Then for a whipped cream frosting simply whip a pint container of heavy whipping cream with 1 tsp vanilla and 3 tbsp of sugar until it forms stiff peaks... or whatever consistency floats your boat!

I also chopped some bittersweet chocolate and sprinkled on top... then all you did is stare, drool, eat, and rejoice!
