WIP Wednesday: Dec 4th

 WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Holy guacamole! It has been so very long since I did a WIP post and I am so darn happy to have some progress to share! Here is what I have been working on:

First off, I finally got the top for my Star Surround QAL pieced together...only months late, ya know, no big deal lol.

This is my plus quilt, following a tut I think from Stitched in Color. I have set this aside for now to try and catch up on my Skill Builder blocks that I am behind on, but I am loving how this is coming together, and I love this Bijoux fabric! Sorry this pic is so dark it was not the sunniest of days lol

Last but not least, for now I have two skill builder blocks done. This first one might be my favorite ever but it took me FOREVER to do it and I am never gonna do it again lol But, holy wow I love it!

Then there was the pixelated block... which I did the old fashioned way as I am not spending money right now on stuff I really do not need to. I do love the block but look, its not square! lol I left out a row and had to seam rip it open and add it in, just didn't update the pic.

So that is it for now! I am in the process of doing the next block with HSTs but also the old fashioned way lol instead of the fancy gridded paper ... its really not that hard after all to do HSTs :) So wish me luck! I think I have 6 more after this to go. I know I may not finish on time but I am certainly going to finish darnnit!

I will be hopping to see what everyone else is up to as well!

  2. Hi Tanyia, thanks for stopping by my blog (RunningHen.blogspot.com) for WIP. I note that you said you don't "re-do", but look what you did with the pixelated block. That un-sewing is a bother, but sometimes we just gotta do it, right? Love your star quilt! Good for you taking on 'skill builder blocks', which I've never heard of.

  3. Nice projects. I love to join QALs as well but it's hard to stay on track so I totally understand about not meeting the deadline. For the Skill Builder BoM I made first two blocks and I don't think I ever finish it. Good luck with yours.
