Salsa Shredded Chicken Tortilla Filling

First of all sorry for the lame photo...chicken is not the most compliant of photo subjects and it was really dark, and my light bulb burned out and yea... just not the greatest of photos! lol

6 chicken breasts
1 jar salsa, approx 15 oz
approx 15 oz tomato sauce
2 1oz pckts taco seasoning
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
4 cloves of minced garlic, or 2 tsp preminced
2 tsp chili powder
1 c water
optional - cayenne to taste

This is so easy and the girls love it. You just put everything in the crock pot, let cook on high for 4 to 5 hours, then shred the chicken and spoon over as much of the juice from the crock pot as you want to incorporate. Then use it for wraps with some sour cream, cheese, etc.

  4. Thank you, again, for sharing this. Ended up having this last night (11/24). YUMMY!! Even my picky eaters ate it! It's a "make it again" at our house.

I might do this to some of the left-over turkey we're bound to have after tomorrow. LOL
