Chicken Cordon Bleu Burger

I have seen lately a few "themed" burgers from different regions and it has made me want to try different flavors and regional styles of sandwiches/burgers. So the first one I thought of was chicken cordon bleu. It turned out really yummy and everybody loved it and said that this recipe should be a keeper. Let me know what you think! The recipe I used fed 6 with approx 1/3 lb burgers.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Burger

2 lbs ground chicken
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp Herbes de Provence (or any French blend will do)
ham (I used Canadian bacon)
Swiss cheese
honey Dijon
buns/bread/baguette to serve

Mix the first 5 ingredients, form into 6 patties and cook until well done. Since there is virtually no fat in the ground chicken cook slow and longer as opposed to higher heat as they will burn. Once burgers are almost done put the ham under the patties to brown and heat. When ham is ready flip burger/ham over and put cheese on top. Turn off the stove and cover until the cheese melts. Top with honey Dijon and serve on your bread of choice.

* I know my pictures are not the most appetizing but I only have an 8 mp point and shoot AND I am no photographer, just a mom who can cook pretty well and wants to share with you, so please forgive the less than appetizing photo! lol

  2. Good idea, I'll have to try these. I often grill chicken burgers and the family isn't thrilled, but I bet if I dressed them up like you did, they'd like them much more!

  7. ok this one makes up for the cream corn the other day. Not only does it look good it sounds fantastic. The only problem for me is I have no idea what 2 tsp Herbes de Provence (or any French blend will do) is.

  8. It is a french herb mixture, Ann. It says exactly that on the bottle and you can find it with the spices.
