I made it ... Library Bag!

I recently bought the Spring Issue of Quilts and More, and they have a few bag patterns this month, which I LOVE!

And this is one of the bag patterns that they have, and I knew I could do it because it was simple.

I chose to do the shorter strapped one... both are identical, one just has a few inches of length added to the strap.

I used simpler fabric of course, because that is what i had. I actually used a sheet from my daughters bedroom set. No one in our family, for some reason, uses top sheets so I have a few cute ones that I keep for scrap purposes. So, I up-cycled a sheet into a really cute library bag for my 12 yr old. She goes to the library every other week or so and gets about 10 books!

She always is asking for a bag to put the books in so she doesn't carry a huge armful of 'em. So she was thrilled with them and I am so uberly proud of myself...cause I did it!

What do ya think? Have a few sheets lying around? lol

  3. Now I'm going to have to go buy that magazine. We don't use top sheets around here, either. I usually make matching valances for our bedrooms with the ones that match, but I've been having lots of fun using thrifted sheets in projects. I LOVE this one, so thank you for sharing it!!

  8. I also use sheets, love to sew with them! Sometimes I make a double layer bag with the sheet as a liner and a thrifted dress or skirt as the outside.....
