WIP Wednesday - June 12th Edition
Happy Wednesday, y'all! Time to share what I have been up to and see what everyone else is working on!
I finished the wall hanging that I was working on last week... I will share that Friday, with Friday finishes :)
I have four new starts for this week:
This first one is a new cross stitch...not much going on there yet, but I swear to you that is going to be an eyeball! lol Yep..and eye. You will see, it is so cute!
Just started cutting into this...think Dresden! OOoooohh how I love them! lol. Giving Dresdens a second go with these beautiful fabrics and I am going to make ... what else...a table runner. This one is for me, though!
Making my little a dress... ok well, she is almost 12 but she is still MY little and well okay so I had to walk away from frustration, even thought the tut seemed like a monkey could do it. I just really suck at sewing clothes. I did it, it turned out awful, now I am trying to find a way to fix it lol. Even my little couldn't lie and say it didn't suck, so...yea.
Also, cutting into these ... think scalloped holiday bunting! The bunting bug has bitten me again! That one is right up there with table runners! lol
And I had to share with you my favorite Instagram pic of the week! This is our kitten Tesla. He is a mischievous little shit but then he cuddles with you, licks your nose, and scents your cheek. I think the kids taught him how to get away with things! He is so sweet and adorable, he was playing in some scraps here when I was cutting the above fabric:
That's it for this week... I think that's enough, don't you?
This week's stats:
UFOs: a lap quilt, a toddler quilt, and an ugly table runner lol
finished this week: dresden wall hanging
New starts: bunting, runner, dress, and cross stitch

The cutest cat ever---looks can be deceiving though right?! lol
ReplyDeleteI am no good at garment construction either, but us quilters try right?! ;) Hope it all works out for ya.
thanks, Sara...and yes he is so stinkin cute! lol
DeleteLove the fabric you picked out for the dresdans!
ReplyDeletethanks, Heidi, I am loving them so far!
DeleteI would love to be able to sew my own clothes, but haven't worked up the courage to try yet. You are a braver woman than I, so congrats for even trying.
ReplyDeleteYou have some great fabrics picked out there.
thanks a bunch... you should try though, who knows you might be a natural!
DeleteThose fabrics for dresden definitely caught my eye too and those pins. You got so many pins in the dress. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.
ReplyDeleteI had a zillion and one right? rofl! I wanted to make sure it is not going anywhere lol
DeleteI do make clothing but sometimes the tutorials assume a lot--you should try actual patterns before you give up entirely. Simplicity is generally good, as well as Burda.
ReplyDeletethanks for the advice Lisa, I am going to keep trying I think but not so sure its gonna work out! lol
DeleteWell;;you certainly are a busy lady there...nice projects
ReplyDeletethanks, Marjorie and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLook forward to seeing that cross stitch finished! Thanks for stopping by earlier.
ReplyDeletethanks, Nati :)
Deletegreat projects going on! Kudos to you for even attempting clothing. They scare me so I stick to quilts, ha!
ReplyDelete-Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation
lol thanks Kelly!
Deletethe dresdens have to be wonderful with that fabric selection! good luck.
ReplyDeletethanks so much, I am in love for sure!
DeleteThat fabric will make a great dresden - i'll have to check in and see how it's going! I love your cat's name :)
ReplyDeleteoh ty so much! :) He is my baby!
DeleteCats are adorable and detrimental to my quilting. The instant I start working on anything, a cat is sure to come in and plonk herself down on it, then look up at me with a "whaaaaat?" expression.
ReplyDeleteLove your WIPs - yay for Dewberry Heirloom! :)
Very nice! Thanks or the invite from theboredzombie.com. I like what you're doing here and will add you to my feeds to see what you're up to next!
ReplyDeleteKitties. lol.
Nice starts. I'm not much into clothes either. Love the cat!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric choices! I'm not fabulous at clothes either, especially when it involves gathering stitches, cringe! Good luck fixing it up!
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics for the dresden are gorgeous! Dresdens are definitely on my 'one day' list!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your Dresie! Having fun with mine. Will share soon. Don't know why I didn't try these sooner.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful projects you are embarking on!! So many things I love too. Dresdens, bunting, cross stitch...all right up my street. Looking forward to seeing how these turn out!
