100 Quilts for Kids

http://swimbikequilt.com/2013/07/100-quilts-for-kids-charity-quilt-drive-starts-today.html

This is the second year now that I have taken part in 100 quilts for kids. I love quilting, I love helping, I love kids...what better way to help out!

Katie of Swim Bike Quilt holds this drive from the summer til Fall, I believe this is the fourth year. Last year I donated one quilt and this year I hope to at least donate two. You have until the end of September to donate it and you can donate it locally, which is also great. The point it just to do what you do for good. Do a little something to give back, help out, lend a hand...show you care. I personally can say that I know it gives you a good feeling!

I donated my quilt, at the monthly guild meeting this past week to our lovely president Beth. She was collecting them for homeless kids in need in a local county. I also like that this year she was making sure they were going to middle schoolers instead of just Elementary kids because a lot of times people forget about the older kids needing help as well. It warms my heart to know that this quilt will keep someone warm in the upcoming winter months.

So... if you any UFOs hanging around, or you may even have a finished quilt... take this as food for thought and maybe help out. If you are unsure of what to do with one, check the online listings for Project Linus or even Quilts for Kids, they have chapters all across the US and often times local quilt shops are drop off sites and will take care of it for you.

Someone out there will be forever grateful that you did. Have a wonderful and blessed Saturday!

***PS... there is still time to enter my FQ bundle giveaway, you can check out that post HERE

  1. I love your quilt! (Red, black and white are my favorite colors to use when not making a rainbow.)
I am sure this will make someone very happy.

  2. I love that you made this for older kids. That's what my guild is doing this month, too. It's such a great quilt, and thanks for linking up to 100 Quilts!
