It feels so good to have gotten back to my machine and have something not only sewn but FINISHED!!! I have to admit I love starting new projects....kinda hate the actual basting and quilting part lol. I have even learned to like (not love) the binding part since I have better learned what I am doing! lol But... once that quilt top is together I considerably lose interest in finishing what ever project I am working on. Surely, I can not be the only one like this...right??? Right?
So to get back to my craft room and sew and finish something is almost a miracle lol. I felt like I need to really focus on wrapping up a few things before I continue with new things though, so I am working on it!
For now I finished my first ever project with triangles. I was originally making this for the 100 quilts for kids drive but with my absence I missed the deadline. It is crib sized so I will hold on to it until someone has a kid or another charity drive comes along lol. I just want to know someone that will love it gets it.
It was challenging for me, working with triangle at first. It took a little bit to get the hang of exactly where the points should line up to make even rows, but once I got it down I found I truly loved the way the triangles looked together! Next time I do triangles, I think I will throw in some solids as well, but I do love these Luxe in Bloom prints so very much!
I forgot to lint roll the back ... just pretend its perfect lol. Simple straight line quilting, like I like and a nice bright but basic back. I did not want to compete with the front at all.
I love the way it turned out, and a finish definitely motivated me and gave me back some of my mojo! YES! I am linking up to Link A Finish Friday at Richard and Tanya Quilts. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to! What have you been working on??
