WIP Wednesday - April 30th

http://www.freshlypieced.com/

The last day of April??!! Really guys? Where on earth has the first quarter of the year gone? My goodness. It is funny but they say as you age the years seem to go faster and I guess I have to agree with that for now!

I had a bit of progress this past week but am currently slowing down as I feel myself getting frustrated with my current project. It seems I enjoy pulling fabric, cutting fabric, piecing fabric... and then I hate basting and quilting. I am even enjoy binding now, but seriously this quilting crap is killing me. I do not know why... ugh!

First progress made was finishing my first hexie project! :) I am so in love with it! I have to remember to write it up in it's own post for the yearly FAL. I really love how the peachy colors in the Rock n Romance line look with all the grays! I ran out of the dark gray background color for the binding and I believe that was fortuitous as the light gray really sets it off I think!

Then last night I basted this ... this big long behemoth of a table runner for out formal dining room table. Since I am not currently a fan of the quilting... I am hating this job, frankly. It is so long and even though I roll the edges in while quilting it is just redonkulous! But... one square at a time, followed by walking away and breaking for a bit is helping me to get 'er done. There are 16 blocks total and I have 3 done so far, so I call that a win. It is almost 100 inches long.

This weekend is International Scrapbooking Day so I will probably share some more of my other hobby this week as well. I am so blessed to be a part of the designer's teams that I love so I have been scrapping a ton this past week with all of their new releases that will be coming out!So exciting!

I can't wait to go through the hop and see the progress everyone else has been making! If I missed your blog, leave me a link so I can see what you have been up to :)

  4. Your hexie quilt looks awesome and I'm sure that the table runner will be worth all the headaches when it's done.

  7. I totally feel your frustration with quilting. I have a love/hate relationship with it. My sister (the one who got all the talent), never seems to run out of steam when she's quilting, but for me, I can't wait to start, and then I can't wait until it's over. My last quilt took the better part of a year, but the results were worth it. I wish I had your talent and eye for color. Your work is absolutely beautiful. Please don't quit!
