WIP Wednesday - June 4th

http://www.freshlypieced.com/2014/06/wip-wednesday-with-guest-host-lucy-from.html

Not too much progress this week as far as different things go, but I think I made a lot of progress on my feathers qal quilt. I am loving how it is coming together and my poor daughter is foaming at the mouth waiting to have it all to herself lol.

I have to do the sashing now but I ran out of fabric and am waiting on a re-order from Hawthorne Threads which UPS should be here tomorrow. Not that I am eagerly waiting for it or anything ! lol Of course I can not get a pic of fabric on the ground without a cat stalking near by lol.

While I had nothing to do the day before yesterday I decided to grab some left over scraps and see what I could with them. So I tried improv piecing for the first time... I AM IN LOVE! It was so frickin' freeing not being able to screw up! I mean, seriously... grab a piece so, wack off the extra and move on! It was awesome!

My mother in law has been after me to make her some little pretties to put on top of her short bookshelves. So This was a perfect size to cut down for her. She absolutely loved it. Now I know what to do with some of my other scraps for her as well. <3 Talk about a win win!

Ok, that's it for today! Off to hop around and see what everyone else has been up to!

  1. You are so funny! If I have two scraps lying around on my cutting table, I have to sew them together or I get nervous! I love scraps and never throw any of them away no matter how small they are! If they get too tiny, I use them to stuff a cushion or something! Good job!

  2. Your feathers quilt is looking nice. What do you plan to use for the sashing? And I love your improv pieced topper. Improv piecing really is a blast.
