My Second quilt

Well, I finally finished this quilt. I had been working on the cutting of it in the past week, while I sat around feeling sorry for myself, thankfully seeing this done, seeing my daughter's excitement, and seeing it proudly on her bed has definitely made me feel better!

The last one that I did .... Samantha's quilt turned out to be a lap quilt ... a definite learning experience! lol So this one is actually full sized, and now of course Samantha wants a new one! lol Anyway, I am proud of how this turned out. Kayla picked out all the fabrics herself... I did not really like them when I saw them individually but I must say it really came together well!

I am going to do one for Rebecca next and think I am going to step out into a non rag quilt pattern. It will have to be simple but I am ready to venture out just a little more into the world of quilting now. I am think maybe a Lotus Brick pattern or something simple like that.

Anyway, here is my quilt, and the original post from Infarrantly Creative where I got the idea as well as the excellent step by step directions to help me attempt my first two quilts!!!! :) Thanks to all the tutorial writers out there that help us to make things great!

Thanks for looking, feel free to give me some feedback :) I can take it! lol

  10. WOW! That quilt is fabulous! I love the lettuce edge squares, incredible! I am always so impressed with people who quilt (not being a quilter myself, no patience for it!) But it is by far one of the best presents you can receive. This is fabulous!

  18. I love it! I would love if you could come link it up to my blanket party. We lost our baby in August and are working really hard to create a blanket drive for Project Linus. All blankets are donated in our son's name. Each monday we have blanket tutorials and at the end of the month a blanket party. Plus my sponsor is giving away a great prize to one of the links!

Feel free to link up to our blogger of the month party as well - more prizes are being given away!

    Hope to see you soon!

  25. I love your quilt, you did great. I love the rag look because you cannot even tell when the seams do not match up! Which is a huge problem for me!

One place that I get all of my super easy quilt patterns is from Moose on the Porch Quilts. She has 2 books that are very basic - simply charming 1 and the simply charming 2. I am making a table topper from the first book right now that I will post sometime soon if all goes as planned.

Anyway, thanks for the nice words on my blog. I would love to have you come and link this and anything else you feel like up to Fantastic Friday at http://ironvioletdesigns.blogspot.com
