WIP - July 17th Edition

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Happy Wednesday! I have a couple WIPs, but only a couple this week. Thankfully, my back is getting better but I was not able to sit in my sewing chair for too long at a time. I am happy with what I did though!

Last week I showed you the paper pieced pattern I had ready to go, the one with 28 spots? lol Well, the block is done and I absolutely LOVE it, and it truly could not have been easier! It has not seen a lint brush yet so please ignore the cat hair...I swear cats think we quilt just for them!

and just to share... this is the first time I have laid them altogether... and I think I am in love! These are from the Skill Builder BOM sampler being hosted by Pile o'Fabric. I really can not believe I have made this, it makes me giddy! I can never get the lighting right... the truest to the real color are the darker blocks at the top of the pic... I think too much sun was coming in at the bottom.

and the other progress I made is using my In from the Cold fabrics but I can not share that til the Ho Ho Ho Christmas in July/Aug hop, my date will be Aug 6th. I can't wait! I am trying a new to me block and so far so good. I think I dig it! :)

Can't wait til it's done!

I also came up with a pattern that I designed to enter in the Connecting Threads designer contest. Omg, I might just expire if I won! Seriously...just can't even fathom!

Ok, that's it for today! I can't wait to hop around and see what every one is up to! Thanks for stopping by!

  13. I so LOVE black in quilts. Really love. It pops the other colors like nothing else. This is pretty great!

(Funny you mention lighting problems, I'm planning on working on that with my own quilt tonight. If I come up with anything good, it might be a future blog post.)

  29. Wow, those blocks are gorgeous together. With the bar-graph-like one in the middle, they kind of look like a set of infographics, except in edgier colors. Super cool!

I'd love to see any of these, but especially the Skill Builder sampler, in the quilting section of Kollabora, the crafting community I'm part of. Do you know it? I'm trying to get more people who make quilts in unusual color palettes to join.
