Happy Wednesday :) I made some great progress today! I am so excited to say that my Feathers QAL from the Alison Glass pattern is done done and done!! Woohoo!
My daughter loves it. She wanted me to finish it up right away, but after ripping all that paper I told her I didn't want to look at it for awhile and it is going in time out lol.
On to my Schnitzel & Boo mini quilt swap quilt. Time to get something going finally. I think I was a little disappointed as my partner is not active and I do not have any of the fabrics she likes and I love a color she hates lol so yea... I was trying to figure out where to go with this.
I finally decided to do something ME and share that with her, of course while avoiding her nemesis colors :) Hopefully she will like it.
I shrunk down the Feathers pattern and started some more paper piecing lol
I went with some gorgeous cross hatch background and used my left overs from my Heat Wave quilt. I just love the bright solids with the black.
This is where I am :) I love it! I might have to make another for me actually lol. This is going to be a long rectangle. I thought the out of the box shape would work well with the long blocks and maybe show case it a little better. Plus, most people are doing standard squares so I am trying for something different!
And... that's where I am this week! I was going to go to the beach today again but it is a thunderstormy day so we have to wait til tomorrow. So, today I will try and finish this up and enjoy the WIP hop :)

Gorgeous feathers quilt with stunning colours
ReplyDeleteYour choice of the background gray is perfect. Presenting the cross-hatch at different angles makes this quilt, in my opinion. There's so much movement amid the chunks of pink and fushia -- love it!
ReplyDeleteI want to be your partner!! :) Your feather quilt is awesome! Must know, what is the grey (for the feather quilt top) and the black (for the mini quilt you are making for your new partner HA) background fabric?? I feel a major shopping spree coming on. . .
